Autofocus is not focusing well
Check the lens and verify that there are no external causes to the problem, such as smears on the lens or dust behind the lens. If there are no external causes to the issue, and the camcorder’s blurriness persists, you may manually adjust the focus with the MF ASSIST option. If the environment is too dark for the autofocus, you may use the AF ASSIST LAMP to aid with the autofocus.
Dust behind the lens
Check that there is no external dust on the outside of the lens. If there is, take an alcohol wipe and proceed to wipe the surface of the lens, being cautious to not leave any scratches or smears. If there is dust behind the lens aperture, carefully remove the lens and use an alcohol wipe to clean the dust behind the lens. Shining a flashlight from behind the lens or using an alternative light source to identify the areas containing dust is recommended. When the lens is completely clear, carefully reattach the lens and the lens aperture, making sure to avoid damaging the component.
See the repair guide for instructions on removing and cleaning the lens.
